As per an interesting statistic, a mid and large sized enterprise on an average uses 100+ SaaS tools across its internal and external operations. Couple of years back, a lot of work was either manual or excel driven, cut to today, we have fund-raising rounds happening everyday thus leading to a flurry of applications and cloud based non-premise solutions where users either log their attendance or tick mark their vendor selections.

Consolidation of SaaS Tools

While it started with the ease of digitization, as per recent survey by Gartner, a key use case now emerging is platform consolidation for which Appian has been ranked #1 in the market. They have won the award by Gartner in the category "2026 Gartner® Critical Capabilities™ for Business Orchestration and Automation Technologies" (consolidation of saas)

The latest case in point is with GetGo, Singapore based cab-sharing provider which has run certain consolidation to ease ops and improve customer experience. Director of engineering for the company clearly mentions that the system that they started with when they were comparatively smaller, had multiple fragmented SaaS tools and thus was quited distributed.

Today, as the operations have grown larger and much more distributed, 3000 vehicles across 1700 locations, it is difficult to work in the fragmented environment and hence the consolidation.

At House of Analyst Ankur, regular discussions with the enterprise stakeholders and those on the IT side, both suggest that the consolidation play is likely to remain strong with multiple factors continuing to play in including the fact that cost savings are no-brainer
