Recent reporting by Forbes on Garuda Aerospace Private Limited, Agnishwar Jayaprakash founded unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) OE(D)M opens new opportunities for service providers in the platform and digital product engineering space across the aerospace and defense continuum.

“About two weeks ago, the drone-tech startup and Naini Aerospace Engineering Ltd (NAeL), a wholly owned subsidiary of HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd), signed a joint development partnership to manufacture advanced precision drones”

Securing government contracts allows Garuda to

1. Gain stable revenue

2. Establish market credibility

3. Access large-scale projects

4. Explore new markets while fostering partnerships and innovation

Successful completion of these contracts also positions Garuda as a reputable reference for future ventures to reach revenues of INR 1000 Crores in FY’24 from current INR 15 Crores.

In Oct’22, they partnered with Lockheed Martin to be part of advanced Uncrewed Aerial Systems, technical term being autonomous loyal wingman. This is the latest project pursued by key defense participants and recently Boeing MQ-28 garnered every defense enthusiast’s attention. At the same time their collaboration with 120+ local suppliers enables them to vertically integrate thus reducing the foreign dependence.

The above facts coupled with the increasing deployment of UAVs across the commercial and defense applications calls for reliable service providers to :-

1. Support Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, associated startups in India’s autonomous loyal wingman testing efforts starting 2024

2. Build POC’s for emerging use cases across multiple sectors. As Achal Kataria mentions “Drone services are one of the fastest growing technology segments with the potential to provide extraordinary value to industries such as agriculture, manufacturing, energy and utilities, retail and logistics.”

3. Support startups and enterprises in end-to-end drone software platform solutions
